EMDR Therapy Dr. Arielle Schwartz
Reclaim your life from the costs of trauma.

Don’t let trauma, PTSD, or childhood abuse derail your life. Tap into your resilience & strength EMDR facilitates adaptation to traumatic life events by creating a safe environment that allows you to turn toward the traumatic events and not away from them. The only way to move beyond the burdens of trauma and PTSD is to remember them without reliving them.

The ideal outcome of any trauma therapy is the ability to say:

“This happened, it happened to me, and it’s over now. I’m stronger as a result!”

What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that helps give us greater choice about the actions we take in the world and the meanings that we make. It helps us to accept what is and move forward in life with a positive, hopeful outlook. Learn more about EMDR Therapy.

EMDR Therapy and the Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

As with all trauma therapies, the initial emphasis is to create a safe environment in which you can process and move through challenging emotions:

  • Fear and terror and debilitating anxiety
  • Anger and rage
  • Shame
  • Self doubt and low self esteem
  • Sadness and depression
  • Suicidal thoughts

Once a safe environment is achieved, the therapy involves using bi-lateral stimulation to assist with processing the painful memories and the associated negative behaviors that are derailing your life. Learn more about EMDR and PTSD.

Dr Arielle Schwartz EMDR Therapist

  • Arielle Schwartz, PhD has been practicing EMDR Therapy since 2002
  • Dr. Schwartz facilitates EMDRIA is the developer and facilitator for several Advanced EMDR Therapy Training courses.
  • She conducts ongoing EMDR Therapy consultation and supervision groups.
  • I would also like to inform you about my choice to partner with PESI, which resulted in being asked to let go of my consultant status and certification with EMDRIA. This decision was one that I reflected upon for over a year before deciding that this was the right action for me. I am aware that historically PESI trainings were not aligned with the standard of care that has been established by EMDRIA. When given an opportunity to teach EMDR for PESI, I helped to up-level the training to be on par with the trainings that I have received and been part of assisting as a consultant. I feel secure in the knowledge that I worked with them to create a training of excellence that will produce the best quality of care that is so deeply needed in mental health care. Moreover, I feel proud that PESI helps create affordable and accessible trainings to a wide range of mental health clinicians serving highly diverse populations. My consultation groups will continue to offer the integrative EMDR approach that includes somatic psychology, parts work therapies, and therapeutic yoga for trauma which has been my area of specialty for the past 21 years.
